Recovery PIN

An optional 6 to 12 digit PIN that works like the recovery phrase, on this phone only.

Step by step

1. Open Settings, then Recovery PIN.
2. Type a PIN twice. Simple runs like 123456 are refused.
3. On the lock screen tap “Forgot your pattern or passphrase?”, choose PIN and enter it to set a new unlock.

Good to know

• A Recovery PIN is easier to remember than 12 words, but weaker. Keep your recovery phrase too if you can.
• A Recovery PIN never unlocks the app by itself, and it cannot open an Export Package on a new phone.
