What is free
One Vault holding up to 10 items in total (photos, videos and documents together). Also free: every lock option, the Empty Vault (a credential that opens nothing shows an empty Vault), the Recovery Phrase and optional Recovery PIN, folders and filters, the in-app camera, Scan a document (each scan counts as one item toward the limit), the slideshow, Export Package and Restore, making and receiving Share Packages, the attempt log, auto-lock and every language (English plus ten others).
What Pro adds
StrongRoom Pro adds three things: unlimited items, more than one Vault (each behind its own pattern or passphrase), and the Duress Vault, which needs a second Vault to erase. In the free app every Pro feature is visible with a Pro badge; tapping one explains it and offers the upgrade.

Prices are in US dollars and shown here as a guide; prices vary by country and your App Store shows the price for yours. Apple allows one free trial per person per subscription group, so you can use the trial on only one of the two subscriptions.
What always stays free
Recovery (Phrase and PIN), the Export Package, the Share Package, the attempt log, the Empty Vault and every setting are free. We charge for room and for extra Vaults, not for recovery or the way out, because a vault that holds your files hostage for payment would break the point of a vault.
If you stop paying
Nothing already in a Vault is ever locked. If your subscription lapses or you are over the free limit, you can still open, export and delete everything. Extra Vaults you already made stay, and a Duress Vault already set stays set. You just cannot add more items or make new Vaults until you are under the limit or subscribed.
Restore and manage
Pro is bought through Apple, so manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. "Restore purchases" in the app's Pro screen brings Pro back on a new phone. We never see your payment details. The app checks your purchase on the phone with Apple's own record and keeps no purchase data of its own.
