Photos, videos and documents

Tap an item to open it full screen. Swipe to the next or previous one. Pinch to zoom a photo. Videos play with the standard iOS player. PDFs and other documents open in the iOS document preview, with thumbnails in the grid so you can find the page you want.

What happens while you look

Items are decrypted only while you are looking at them, in memory or in a protected scratch area that the app clears. Videos are decrypted as they play, so a long video starts quickly. When the Vault locks, the viewer closes and the decrypted data goes with it.

Slideshow

When a Vault holds more than one photo, a slideshow button appears in the viewer. Photos advance on their own; touching the screen counts as activity, and the idle lock does not run while you are watching. It is free.

Sharing out of the viewer

You can share or save a selected item from the Vault. That copy is a normal, unprotected file once it leaves; treat it as exported. To send something so that it stays encrypted, use a Share Package.

Limits

The viewer cannot stop someone from photographing your screen, and it cannot hide what is on screen from a person standing behind you. There is no custom video bar, loop or rotation control, and the slideshow shows photos only. Screen recording is not blocked.
