What "nothing leaves your phone" means

StrongRoom has no sign-up, no sync, no backup service, no crash reporter and no analytics. The app makes no network connections of its own. What you store stays in the app's private storage on the phone, encrypted. The app's data is excluded from iCloud and computer backups.

How you can check

StrongRoom collects no data, and its App Store privacy label will say Data Not Collected. You can also test it yourself: turn on Airplane Mode and use the app, or look at its network activity in iOS's App Privacy Report (how it works, Apple Support, checked on 2026-10-30). Apple's own opt-in crash reports are collected by Apple, not by us. We have not published the source or had an independent audit yet, and we do not claim either.

What we do not do

No account or email. No analytics, advertising or tracking. No telemetry on how you use the Vault. No access to your photo library beyond the items you pick. No server that receives anything from the app.

The one thing that touches Apple

StrongRoom Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app, on your phone, which purchases are valid. We never receive payment information, your name or your Apple Account. If you never buy Pro, nothing touches Apple's payment system.

What it costs you

Nothing is backed up for you, and no one can reset your credential. Make an Export Package and keep your Recovery Phrase. Sharing is by a file you send yourself, so there is no live-updating shared Vault and no way to revoke a share. The app cannot be used on a second device at the same time; each phone has its own Vaults. We think that is the right trade for a vault; you may disagree, and the comparison page says who the other kind suits.
